A camera bubble that floats over everything you do — and a recorder that never welds it into the video. Move it, resize it, reshape it after you stop.
Every other recorder composites the camera onto the screen while it records. The moment it does, the pixels underneath are gone and the corner you chose is the corner you have. Orb writes a folder instead.
Wrong corner, wrong size, face over the thing you were pointing at — all of it is now a re-record.
Nothing is decided until you export. The glass halo can bend the screen behind the rim because those pixels are still there.
Floats above every app and every Space, follows you into full screen. Drag it, scroll over it to resize. The record button is attached to it, so you can stop a take while another app has focus.
None, a clean ring, a glow, or glass — which blurs and magnifies the screen behind the rim as real refraction, not a drawn-on highlight.
Orb samples the pointer sixty times a second and pushes in toward what you clicked, arriving a beat before the click rather than chasing it. Amount, speed and hold are sliders you can move afterwards, or switch off entirely.
Reopen a finished recording, scrub to any moment, drag the bubble to where it should have been, change circle to square, then export.
Kept out twice over — the window is marked unshareable, and the capture filter names it as excluded. One stale flag should not be able to burn a Stop button into your finished video.
There is an iOS version in progress. The bubble floats over other apps and the screen recorder runs on device — but a full take, start to finish, has not been proven yet, and iOS constrains the shape in ways macOS does not.
It is not included in this licence and it is not being sold. It ships when someone who has never seen it can record a take without being told anything.
